University Applications
![]() ![]()
The dreadful
application process. Forms after forms. Deadlines after deadlines. Courses
after courses. Requirements after requirements. Disappointments after
disappointments and if I’m lucky, hope and joy. It’s all too familiar to me
now. So far I’ve filled in my UPU form that determines my place in local
universities for the 1st Degree intake and I’ve also separately
applied for a teaching course at IPG(Institut Perguruan Gaya) –desperate
measure-. I just hope I get the UPU ones. I can’t imagine myself being a
primary school teacher. Good lord. I’m a child myself! Mostly I applied for
English courses. TESL(Teaching English as a Second Language), Bach. of Arts
Major in English, you know, all that jazz. My sister who’s a primary school
English teacher herself is pushing me to take the same course as she did since
I love English so much. Let me tell you this, I love English but I don’t love
teaching as much especially to small children. I can cope with teaching
adolescents and young adults but not kids, period. Their attention span is
quite short, I know because I was one
of them. Meh, who knows? Maybe if I get in, I would consider liking teaching?
I know
you’re like, “I thought you wanted to
take TESL, you conniving b*tch.” Yes, I do but a different type of TESL. Like
for teaching secondary schools and eventually becoming a lecturer but not to primary school children. IPG only
has TESL(SK) which means it’s a degree solely for the methodology of teaching
in primary school (keep in mind, I was forced). God, I hope I get the UPU ones…
but even if I did get accepted for IPG I wouldn’t mind because hey! At least
I’m studying somewhere! It’s a brilliant institution nonetheless so I might as
well dealt with it if I do get in which really depends on my SPM result instead
of my STPM.
